Comprising eleven original paintings, this body of work marks an exploration of fluidity—of place, perception, and the shifting internal landscapes that shape Ash Holmes’ practice. Created during a period of deep attunement to her surroundings, the works position color, gesture, and atmosphere as both response and reflection.

Holmes’ process moves instinctively, guided by color psychology and the nuances of the natural environment. Her palette responds not only to light, climate, and terrain, but also to subtler internal conditions—memory, sensation, and emotional tone. Hovering between abstraction and landscape, the paintings function as thresholds.
