In this new body of work, Cortney Herron expands the dreamlike language established in The Land of My Dreams (2025), continuing her exploration of how energy moves between figures, environments, and intimate moments of connection. Duality remains central, expressed through paired figures, mirrored gestures, and watchful forms that suggest rhythms of protection and vulnerability, stillness and motion. These relationships are fluid rather than fixed, revealing energy as something exchanged, absorbed, and reflected within shared space.

A subtle lavender motif threads through the series, originating from a personal moment of loss and remembrance. Appearing sparingly, the color functions as a quiet trace—an echo of memory and presence that lingers beyond its source. Together, the works meditate on unseen currents that shape inner and outer worlds, inviting viewers to sense the movement of energy within moments of pause, absence, and connection, and to reflect on how such forces continue to shape perception and experience over time.

"A single figure emerges from the canvas, shown from the torso up, their hand wrapped around themselves as if bracing against an unseen current. Feather-like florals billow across their body, doubling as both foliage and gusts of wind, pulling the composition into a state of motion. The palette feels ethereal, almost weightless, suggesting the sensation of surrendering fully to the forces around you.
